IT Support Services – Notice of Planned Downtime
System: VOIP (Voice Over IP) Telephone and Voicemail System
Downtime Begins: 5 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2016
Downtime Ends: 7 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2016
Impact to You: The VOIP telephone and voicemail system will be unavailable during the planned downtime window. While phones are down, persons outside the university making calls to VOIP phones will hear a fast busy signal, and will not be able to leave voicemail messages.
Please note the following emergency communication information:
- During the downtime, UMW Police can be reached at 540-654-1025 from a cell or off-campus phone.
- The UMW Police Emergency number 540-654-4444 WILL be in service if dialed from a cell or off-campus phone.
- Blue Light Emergency Phones WILL be in service during the downtime.
- UMW fax machines are connected to analog phone lines, not VOIP, so they will continue to operate normally during the downtime.
- If your fax machine includes a handset, it can be used to contact UMW Police or other numbers off-campus during the downtime.
