IT Support Services – Notice of Planned Maintenance
System: Internet Maintenance (BRIEF DOWNTIME!)
Start/End Time: Wednesday, March 3, 5:00 PM – 5:15 PM TONIGHT!
Impact to You: In connection with yesterday’s downtime, technicians need to bring down the internet connection again tonight for the 15 minute window listed above. During this time, internet connections will not be available. This means that if you are trying to access a system that is internet based outside of the UMW network, you will need to wait for the internet connection to return before you can access it. Apologies for the late notice on this, but it is important for us to complete this work this week. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Items to consider and plan for:
- You will not be able to send or receive email outside of UMW (including students) during this maintenance, but messages will be queued and delivered once the connection returns. Email will be delayed, but should not be lost.
- VPN Connections will not be available while the Fredericksburg campus is experiencing maintenance.
- Off-campus users trying to access systems that require UMW Single Sign-On (like Canvas or MyUMW) will be unable to do so while the connection is down on the Fredericksburg Campus.
- Campus phones will be unaffected.
- The UMW Website will remain available to off-campus users.
