Everyone gets an email account when they arrive at the University. These accounts are created for you automatically.
To setup and access your email, you must first set up your NetID and Password.

Faculty / Staff Email
UMW IT is in the process of migrating all users to Office 365 email from an on-premises email system. Office 365 provides more flexibility and services to users including a host of online applications, cloud storage, and larger mailbox sizes.
Employees have the choice of accessing their email by using software that resides on their computer (like Microsoft Outlook that is part of the Microsoft Office Suite), or by using web-based Outlook Online which allows you to access your email from any computer that has an internet connection.
Student email accounts are created in Microsoft Office 365 after paying the deposit to attend the University. Office 365 includes the Outlook web-based email application.
