Maintenance on EagleNet/SharePoint and Wireless Service

Information Technologies will conduct maintenance tomorrow, Tuesday 5/15, on the following systems/applications: EagleNet/SharePoint will be down for maintenance starting at 7:00 am. This outage will last for approximately two hours. Department sites, MySites, and the UMW Reporting Center will be unavailable. Users will still be able to access Banner during this time. Ongoing Issues with SharePoint

There are currently ongoing issues with SharePoint impacting file management and reporting services.  We are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. In the interim, we are suggesting that users do not make changes to sites or documents. If you do need to make changes, we recommend that you save local copies of the documents. System outages

UPDATE 10:30 AM Connectivity has been reestablished with the Stafford Campus, so systems appear to be functioning once again.  However, Verizon reports to us that the work on our connection between campuses is ongoing, and that the connection may go up and down as they work to finalize repairs. Information Security Alert

Over the past few weeks several UMW users have fallen victim to email SPAM or Phishing attempts.  Providing your account information or clicking a link in an email from an unknown sender or in a suspicious email from a known sender not only can compromise your account – it can cause problems and delays to the entire UMW email system. For example, email messages that are being sent to off-campus email addresses are currently at risk for having their delivery delayed – or possibly blocked.  Conversely, incoming emails may also be delayed. UMW IT and other reputable organizations will never ask you to confirm your account information through email. VoIP Phone Issues

Phones were updated last night as part of a required call manager upgrade.  Some users are experiencing issues with their VOIP phones this morning. Phone is frozen or displaying "configuring ip" If your VoIP phone is not working this morning try unplugging the Ethernet cord from the back of the phone for 10 seconds then plug back in. The cable needs to be unplugged and replugged from the jack labeled "10/100 SW". Your phone should reset.  This could take up to ten minutes. Unable to access voicemail Please see the campus-wide emails that were sent about this issue. Changing your pin Once you have accessed your mailbox select "set up options - option 4", then select "preferences - options 3", finally select "change pin - option 1".  Your new pin is required to be six digits long.  This is an enhanced safety feature.  Your pin cannot contain your directory extension.
