The Information Technology Advisory Committee is appointed by the president and charged to advise the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in matters related to UMW’s information technology environment. Specific areas of committee focus include:
- To advise and consult with the Chief Information Officer to ensure that UMW Strategic Plan Objective 5.E (and associated sub-objectives) is appropriately addressed;
- To inform and participate in the development of a two to five year IT Strategic Plan;
- To inform and recommend priorities for technology related projects and initiatives (and associated funding), as well as general technology funding;
- To promote and enhance the use of information technology and to increase its effectiveness in addressing the mission and goals of the university;
- To make recommendations regarding future classroom and lab information technology and AV configurations and associated implementation time-lines; and
- To consult with and update the CIO regarding general campus technology and IT support requirements.
