Spybot

Installing Spybot 1.62

1. The Spybot website does not host the spybot program itself. Rather, it links to a number of mirror websites that all have the program hosted. To download spybot, simply choose one (it doesn’t matter which you choose) and then select “Download Spybot 1.62”.
   
2. You will be prompted to “Run” or “Save” the .exe file. Hit “Run”.
3. The program will ask you what language you wish to do in the installation in. Select “English”.
   
4. Hit “Next “ on the start page and mark the box accept the license agreement.  Hit “Next”.
   
5. The program will then ask you what destination in which to install the program – for most users, the default directory is fine.  Hit “Next”.
   
6. Next the program will ask you which components you would like to install. Select “Full Installation” from the drop down menu and hit “Next”.
   
7. The program will ask if you would like a folder in the start menu dedicated to SpyBot  (for most users, the default is fine). Hit “Next”.
   
8. The program will display more Additional Tasks. If you would like a desktop or Quick Launch icon for Spybot, select those boxes. Select “Use Internet Explorer protection” and “Use system settings protection” as well. Hit “Next”.
   
9. The program will display the configuration options you have selected. Hit “Install” to install.
   
10. Once the installation is finished, make sure the “Update” and “Launch” buttons are checked and then hit “Finish”.
