You can enhance your documents by incorporating graphic objects. These graphics are divided into two categories – those that are created in Word, and those that are created in another application. Types of graphic objects that you may insert in your document include:
| Graphic created in Word | Graphics created by other applications |
| Clip Art | Pictures/photographs that were scanned in |
| Lines | Pictures/photographs from a digital camera |
| AutoShapes | Images from the internet |
| Word Art | Clip art |
To insert clip art:
- Place your cursor where you want to insert the image in the document.
- Select the Insert Tab.

- Go to the Illustrations Group.

- Select Clip Art.

- The Insert Clip Art Task Pane appears on the right.

- In the Task Pane search text field, enter a description for the type of graphic you are looking for. (For example, typing “Rooster” will display all graphics with a rooster.)
- Click Go. The Task Pane now changes to display the clip art results of your search.
- To insert clip art, move your cursor over the image you want, and click the arrow that appears. This will reveal a menu of options.
