Line spacing controls the amount of vertical space between lines of text. The default setting is single-spaced text. Word offers a number of different options:
- Single – single spaces the block of text.
- One and a Half – applies an extra half space between lines of text.
- Double – adds an extra line between lines of text.
- Exactly – sets spacing between lines at the value that you specify.
- At least – sets the spacing to at least the value that you specify; Word increases the spacing if needed.
- Multiple – sets spacing by the factor that you enter.
To change the line spacing:
- Select the block of text that you want to change.
- Go to the Home Tab.

- See the Paragraph Group.

- Click on the Line Spacing icon.
