Revised User Interface
The new Ribbon groups tools by task; the commands you use most frequently are close at hand.

1. Tabs are designed to be task-oriented.
2. Groups within each tab break a task into subtasks.
3. Command buttons in each group carry out a command or display a menu of commands.
Larger Data Sets with Expanded Worksheets
Excel 2007® supports spreadsheets that can be up to 1 million rows by 16,000 columns.
More Professional-looking Charts
The new user interface helps you build professional-looking charts in fewer clicks. The charting tools allow you to easily add visual effects such as 3-D, shadowing, and transparency. You can now create and interact with the charts you build in Microsoft Office Word 2007® and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007® because the charting engine is consistent with Excel 2007®. Click on the Insert Tab and see the Chart Group.

Better Support for Tables
Excel 2007® automatically keeps table headings in view while you scroll through a large spreadsheet.
Now Easier to Find Trends and Exceptions in Your Data
Use the Conditional Formatting feature to help discover patterns and highlight data trends. For instance, you can apply color gradients, heat maps, data bars, and/or performance indicator icons. Click on the Home Tab and see the Styles Group and click on Conditional Formatting.

Share spreadsheets and business information with others
Office Excel 2007 makes sharing spreadsheets and business information easier. Integration with Excel Services and the new Microsoft Office Excel XML Format can provide a more efficient exchange of information.
