Navigating EagleNet

The EagleNet portal provides the same content as Eaglelink, but is organized in a slightly different way. Below is a guide to the main navigational elements.

Top Navigation Bar

The above links are displayed on the top navigation bar for all users. They include:

  1. EAGLENET:
    Links back to the home EagleNet page from anywhere within the site.
  2. Banner Self-Service:
    This takes you to the home menu page of Banner Self-Service.
  3. My University Resources:
    This takes the place of what were previously the “tabs” in Eaglelink. When you rollover this link, you will get a dropdown menu that will contain the items that apply to your role (student, faculty, staff, etc.). Below is a listing of the full menu. You will likely only get a few of these:

    • Academics (Students): Quick access to Banner Student pages and academic information.
    • Accounts and Financial Aid (Students): Quick access to Banner Financial Aid and Student Accounts with supporting information.
    • University Life (Students): Quick access to Banner Housing, Meals and Mailboxes, as well as facilities calendars and EagleOne card.
    • Faculty Resources (Teaching Faculty): Quick access to Banner Student and Advising, Academic support information, and grants information.
    • Grant Information (Teaching Faculty): Grant application deadlines, links to information and forms for all University and external faculty grant programs.
    • Working at UMW (Faculty and Staff): Quick access to Banner Personal and Employee, facilities calendars, holiday calendar, and HR policies.
    • Technology Support: (All): Password resets and Help desk links.
    • Stafford Library Resources (Stafford students): Resources compiled by the Stafford Librarians, organized by concentration area.
  4. UMW System Logins: This takes the place of the icons at the top of the Eaglelink window, and takes you to the login pages for various systems on campus.

Side Navigational Links

The side links will differ by user depending on how many “sub-sites” within the portal you have access to. The three basic side links include the following:

  • View All Site Content: This is a view of all documents, lists, libraries, etc. available on the EagleNet portal for which you have access privileges. This does NOT include content from any sub-site within EagleNet — only the top-level portal.
  • My Site: Your personal Web space within the portal.
  • Recycle Bin: View any documents deleted from the portal to which you have privileges This does NOT include content from any sub-site within EagleNet — only the top-level portal.

Other links will display in this area depending on any sub-sites for which you have access privileges.
