Off-Campus system access services differ depending on whether you are a faculty/staff member or student. Details are provided below:
Faculty and Staff
Faculty and Staff require the use of an outside ISP to access the UMW systems remotely. These broadband connections will then require the use of the UMW’s Virtual Private Network or VPN connections to gain access to UMW servers and network resources (such as the shared drive, Banner INB, and some other resources); other resources (email, EagleNet) require only Internet access.
Students
Students can access the resources that they need via a web browser.
User Responsibilities
Users assessing the network from off-campus agree to abide by the Network and Computer Use Policy, the Malicious Code Protection Standard, and the Remote Access Standard. Users with questions should contact the IT Help Desk.
